Because of the
special characteristics of physical
education, which usually operates
in gyms and playgrounds instead of classrooms,
grant programs have not been targeted specifically to preparing technology - proficient physical educators.
Until recently, Dr. Danielson held leadership roles
in the U.S. Office for
Special Education Programs and was responsible for the discretionary
grants program, including technical assistance and dissemination, personnel preparation, technology, parent training priorities and state improvement
grants.
CETE leads the DLM - AAS Consortium, a group of 13 states that was awarded a $ 22 million
grant to develop the assessment system from the U.S. Department of
Education, Office of
Special Education Programs
in 2010.
