sweet potato wedges or crudités; used as a sauce for your pasta; spread thickly on some sueprfood bread; stirred into some brown rice with a little miso or eaten straight from the bowl with a spoon!
I boiled the
sweet potatoes separately until fork - tender and
in another pan did the spices, coconut milk,
tomatoes, olives and lentils and simmered it until the lentils were cooked and then mixed
in the cooked
sweet potatoes towards the end.
The stew is all made
in one pot, so you sautee the puree, vinegar, garlic and spices
in the pot, let it heat, and then add the coconut milk,
tomatoes, aubergine and
sweet potato into the same pot.

Every family has their own recipe variation, but they all have the same things
in common — a savory meat and rice filling rolled inside tender cabbage leaves and simmered
in a
sweet and tangy
tomato sauce.
Green
tomatoes provide a spicy (and less
sweet) flavor; yellow
tomatoes are generally milder and less acidic than their red counterparts; and orange
tomatoes tend to be fruity
in flavor.
This mouth - watering combination of crunchy green peas,
sweet corn, and
tomato flakes are marinated
in chili lime, resulting
in extraordinary flavor.
I recently braised eggplants and
sweet peppers
in a
tomato and white wine sauce, seasoned with capers and olives.

Some suggestions: instead of
tomatoes, try any juicy, slightly
sweet vegetable; add some kidney beans
in there; replace the cucumbers with something equally crunchy, like fresh bell peppers; if you like the taste of raw onions, you can put some of those
in; sub out the Feta for a goat cheese or perhaps Parmesan shavings; add roasted nuts or seeds; etc..
In a pot whisk together the jarred
tomato sauce, chili sauce, molasses,
sweet Thai chili sauce *, brown sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper until well combined.
I usually use quinoa
in savory dishes like pesto quinoa stuffed
tomatoes, cilantro lime quinoa, or southwestern quinoa bowls, and this
sweeter summery version is just as delicious!

We «re going to use the second head of Romaine lettuce this weekend
in an entree salad with the yellow squash (shaved), the second
tomato, the last cucumber (along with shrimp and corn and a
sweet cilantro vinaigrette).

in the oven for 15 - 20 minutes or until

tomatoes and avocados give these vegan tacos a fantastic freshness and the
sweet corn counteracts the spiciness of the chili which feels amazing
in the mouth... and will make you want to eat a lot more tacos than just this starter.
What's
in it: 1 lb hot turkey (or chicken) italian sausage 1 small
sweet onion (or 1/2 large), finely chopped 1 cup carrots, chopped 1 tablespoon italian herbs 2 cloves of garlic, finely minced 2 14.5 oz cans white beans (cannellini), rinsed and drained 2 14.5 - oz cans diced
tomatoes (I used fire roasted) 3 cups low sodium chicken broth (more or less according to desired thickness) 6 cups roughly chopped kale optional (but encouraged): 1 parmesan rind (I always save the ends of my parmesan to use
in soups.
Speaking of, I always like
tomatoes in my mac - and - cheese - type meals, and especially these suuupah fresh local grape
tomatoes that just burst with
sweet, juicy flavor.
It's best to prepare this dish
in the summer, when
tomatoes are at the peak of ripeness,
sweet, and full of flavor....
In a separate large bowl, make the
sweet and sour
tomato sauce by combining the crushed
tomatoes, ground cinnamon, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar and water.
Just a pinch of sugar can make the difference between perfect and way too
sweet in a
tomato sauce.
The creamy ricotta and the
sweet tomatoes are a lovely combination, I added
in some finely chopped leftover kale and called it good!
To assemble the tacos place a small handful of spinach
in each tortilla, top with large spoonsful of the
sweet potatoes and chickpeas followed by the chopped
tomatoes, lime yogurt and cilantro.
So delish... as for the girl who's turned out
sweet... you have to add salt to taste... everything
in the recipe is
sweet... onions,
tomatoes, jalapenos... it's also good if your chicken is well - seasoned... I love this recipe!
Other odds and ends — all
in very small amounts of 2 to 4 tablespoons —
in addition to the refried beans, Mexican rice, eggplant, tortillas, and grilled bread included a more risotto - like rice, caramelized onions (sort of fajita style), bronzed carrots (slices of carrot roasted with blackening seasoning and brown sugar), green beans cooked with
tomatoes and onion, very thick pureed white bean soup, about 5
sweet potato fries, a couple of artichoke hearts, a dab of roasted red peppers, and half of a veggie burger made with black beans and corn.
