To what extent does the gap
in teacher expectations reflect real differences in the objective probability of college completion?
We use these responses to first document the presence of racial bias in teachers» expectations, and then study the effects of differences
in teacher expectations on students» likelihood of completing college.

in teacher expectations for students» educational attainment and subjective evaluations of students» academic ability.

A good place to start preventing and managing stress

But it should no longer be the case that only the lucky students get to learn
in schools where
teachers have decided to work against standard
expectations.
