Linda, I got the idea for baking the cornbread batter
in the waffle iron because of the fact that some of the people I know who like the Southern cornbread really like it thin and crusty.
Which was also the last batch of waffles I ever made
in that waffle iron because it suuuuucked.

because it's a quick and easy way to get the crispiest, crunchiest hash browns without having to fry them
in a lot of oil.
They're easy to make and
in no time at all (with basically little to no effort
because the
waffle iron does all the work for you) you'll have a big pile of
waffled corn dogs just waiting to be dipped
in ketchup and mustard or topped with chili and cheese.
Making cake
in a
waffle iron is genius
because 1) it's way faster than baking it and 2) it creates a moist interior and a crispy exterior that's downright addicting.
I haven't used the cast
iron waffle maker
in forever
because it was such a pain and I wasn't able to find a better alternative.
