While it's nice to
dress for leisure every
once in a while,
dressing comfortably and cute can mean throwing on a pair of leggings and a
sweater for a little girl or sweatpants and a hoodie for a boy.
Once the holidays are over and I've lost all reason to
dress festively, I pretty much live
in cozy
sweaters.
Interesting
sweaters can be more expensive... but
once you factor
in the style and ease of
dressing, as well as calculate the CPW (cost per wear), it's the much better option.
There's something that's just so great about a
sweater dress — it's nice to have something other than jeans and a
sweater to wear every
once in a while, and they work particularly well
in LA where you can usually get away with wearing them with just bare legs and booties or flats.
Too bulky (try carrying that heavy
sweater or jacket around for hours on a walking tour
once the day warms up), too fancy (the
dresses, jewelry and heels for the «just
in case» situations that never materialized) too Not Me (clothes that were more tailored / structured than what I normally wear, and not comfortable either physically or emotionally).

sweater which had short sleeves but I found that winter is

Ever - so - slightly disheveled, she could be any cute London girl —
dressed in reworked vintage jeans («From Austin»), a huge overcoat, Burberry plaid scarf and sloppy
sweater sourced from a local boutique — if it weren't for the Julia Roberts - level mega-wattage of her beauty, which she only really switches on
once we're ensconced at our table and sipping coffee.
