Researchers have proposed that districts pay teachers a bonus
for the days they don't take off, or give their schools the money that would have been spent on subs as a collective
incentive, or set up a reward system
for teachers with good
attendance (the Columbia study found that only 3 percent of teachers had
perfect attendance).
