The recipe makes three loaf pans, two 9 - inch square or round cake pans, one 9 or 10 inch tube or bundt cake pan, one 9 by 13
inch sheet cake, or six mini-loaves.
Like most great chocolate cakes, this is equally good as a layer cake or 9 by 13
inch sheet cake.

Use a 6

Now, the fact is (again) the recipe does makes about 51/2 cups batter for two 9 × 3
inch rounds, one half
sheet baking pan (9x13x1) or a 9x12x3
inch cake pan.
Or, if the
cake is baked in a flat pan, like a rimmed baking
sheet, than you're probably fine baking in a relatively shallow 2 -
inch - deep pan.
Grease two 9 -
inch round
cake pans, or a large baking
sheet.

5 To finish the
cake: Roll the almond paste between 2
sheets of plastic wrap to a thickness of about 1/8
inch.
