Constant improvements to all versions of the game have made it much better to play over the last year or so, and release of the console versions coincide with several bugfixes,
including fixes for

There are 5 difficulty levels
including very easy, easy, medium, hard and realistic with the major differences between each of the difficulty levels from very easy up to realistic is that very easy A.I. will remain on a
fixed racing line and are easier to overtake in comparison to realistic A.I. which provides far more aggressive A.I. that are much harder to overtake due to their faster pace and the ability to vary their racing lines to increase the possibility of overtaking their opposition, but most impressively of all is that they are equally as capable of pushing the boundaries of their pace just a little too much resulting in going off track or
crashing.

The update
fixed a number of bugs in the game
including crashes and an item duplication glitch.
Although decidedly a bug
fixing / tweaking patch, it does
include fixes to some troublesome CTD (
crash - to - desktop) issues with the games spawning system.
They
include fixing all the major
crashes and bugs I've found, as well as tasks like making the end credits sequence and balancing the weapons -LSB-...]
Also, we've
fixed a bunch of bugs
including some which caused the game to
crash outright.
Things on the agenda for our next patch: additional
crash fixes,
including the Camping / Quest End soft lock, and Hag - related
crashes once we diagnose them.
The Patch 1.02
includes performance improvements, updated visual settings, various
fixes to avoid getting players stuck and multiple
crash fixes and progression.
Version 4.1 also
includes stability
fixes that will help with
crashing issues that some players have been experiencing.
Among the tweaks that will be
included will be the ability to remap the build menu and
fixes for rare
crashes, monitor detection and more.
UPDATE: An update has been pushed to Apple that
fixes most of these issues,
including Wireless Xbox 360 Controller support,
crashes and adds support for some older Macs.

The main highlights of the patch
include fixes for
crashes that occur when a player tries to Alt + Tab out of the game, improved support for AMD brand CPU's,
fixes for minor issues like mouse jittering, Gsync, and stuttering which was caused by setting the max FPS to either 30 or 60 fps, and framerate issues caused by shader caching.
A number of
fixes and updates have also been made to SnapMap and the multiplayer,
including being able to remove the network limitation in single - player maps,
fixed a few
crashes, freezing and some AI bugs where they would fall into blocking volumes.
