Barbara Richardson, who specializes in
Eurythmy in the Workplace, has led artistic classes for many different adult professionals
including chemists, doctors, nurses, farmers, and teachers.
Drama, painting,
Eurythmy, music, sculpting and modeling, and practical arts and crafts are integrated into the entire academic curriculum
including mathematics and the sciences.
Additional subjects
include two world languages, physical education and gardening, as well as a wide selection of arts,
eurythmy, handwork and woodworking.
The program in all grades also
includes Music (singing and playing the recorder progressing to strings and orchestra),
Eurythmy (a form of movement unique to Waldorf Education), Foreign Languages, Handwork, Form Drawing, Painting, Beeswax and Clay Sculpture, Woodworking (grades six to eight), Gardening, Drama, Speech, Physical Education and curriculum related field trips.
Each day
includes free play, outdoor exploration, and teacher - lead activities such as story - telling, circle, gardening, painting, woodworking, and
eurythmy.
The focus of the conference was «Toward the Deepening of Public Waldorf Education» and toward that end, the conference
included three outstanding keynote addresses by liz Bevens, Ph.D., Bonnie River, M.Ed., and Betty Staley, M.A. Participants experienced morning
eurythmy, choral singing, spacial dynamics and storytelling.
Her many other accomplishments
include: speech artist - and - therapist - in - residence at Karl - Schubert - Schule (Stuttgart); faculty of the School for Pedagogical and Therapeutic Speech (Switzerland), current chairperson of Creative Speech North America (association of speech artists); representative of the Performing Arts Section (
Eurythmy, Speech, Music, Puppetry and Drama) on the North American Collegium of the School of Spiritual Science; translator, editor, author, and actor.
