Some excellent advice from Aussieheather, I would add, keeping well hydrated and being sure to include fats and definitely no low fat options as these often
include hidden sugars, suspect «fillers» and other nasties.
It also doesn't
include the hidden sugars in crackers, chips, peanut butter or fast foods they eat.

Since I started to watch my
sugar intake, it is so important to me to really be aware of the random places
sugar is
hidden and also recognize how unnecessary it really is to
include as much as we do in recipes.
