feedback; to promote collaborative learning, tolerance and social cohesion; and to ensure that students feel valued and
included.
Their work may
include designing processes, planning use of resources, leading professional development, providing observation and
feedback, and offering instructional coaching, but they are not
teachers.
In personalized learning environments, students theoretically have access to ample, frequent, and actionable
feedback from multiple sources,
including content, peers, and
teachers.

Across the research reviewed here, systems that effectively support
teacher development
include collaborative, job - embedded
feedback cycles that enable
teachers to reflect critically on teaching practices in order to identify those that best promote students» learning and engagement.
These advantages
include greater flexibility at a lower cost than traditional testing, quicker
feedback for students, parents, and
teachers regarding student performance (typically, test results are not available until months after students have taken standardized tests), and considerable time savings over traditional methods.
