The added 196 hp over the Gran Sport necessitated many modifications,
including larger turbochargers and the addition of two fuel pumps to feed the engine's thirst.
The power kit, which increases output to 450 hp,

turbocharger, new connecting rods, new camshafts, a bigger fuel pump and a
larger intake.
Key differences between the RS and other more timid Focus models
include a new low - inertia twin - scroll
turbocharger with a
larger compressor (to deliver much greater airflow) and a monstrous intercooler to maximize air charge density, a less restrictive intake design, and a
large bore exhaust system with an electronically controlled valve to optimize back pressure and reduce offensive noise.
