Interestingly, I saw a sign for an
Open Mic night at a pub on my recent travels to see my boys, that was the first time I've seen one over here (of course, it would have to
include booze over here lol!!).
They host regular weekly events,
including barbecues,
open mic nights, and plenty more, so there's no chance of dozing off from boredom.
Students also have the opportunity for their writing or artwork to be
included in a book published by the Wexner Center and to participate in an end - of - year
open -
mic reading.
The day's events
included an educator's breakfast featuring an Editorial Cartoon Presentation and Workshop presented by Pratt Associate Degree Programs Visiting Assistant Professor Thomas Palmer; an Albers Color Workshop for students facilitated by Pratt Associate Degree Programs Visiting Instructor Professor Wilfredo Ortega; a panel discussion featuring student poets; and
open mic readings in which student award winners shared their work.
The send - off will
include additional arts and entertainment —
Open Mic, curated by WonderRoot; performances by Atlanta's circus, the Imperial Opa; live music by Klezmer Local 42 — stuff for children and «Insomniac Tours» of the exhibition by guest curator Elliott King (at 1, 3 and 5 a.m.).
The evening will
include open studios with our summer artists - in - residence, performance art, a tour of the exhibition on view, and an
open mic tribute to shape shifters Prince and David Bowie.
