At eight sites across Michigan on Sept. 30, anyone can drop off unused, unneeded medications —
including opioid painkillers — to reduce their risk to people and the environment.
Woods, 41, had five drugs in his system,
including the opioid painkiller hydrocodone, when he was arrested on May 29 in Jupiter, Florida, according to a toxicology report police released at the time.

One key factor contributing to the trend is the major spike in fatalities related to drugs,
including prescription
painkillers containing addictive

including flight crew, air traffic controllers, truck drivers and train engineers — will be screened for several common

included calls for the federal government to set up drug courts across the U.S., retrain medical prescribers on
opioid use and reduce incentives for doctors to offer the powerful
painkillers.
The government alleged that a chiropractor billed Medicare and a state Medicaid program improperly for
painkillers,
including Opioids.
Given these risks, most life insurance companies deny coverage to an applicant who tests positive for addictive drugs,
including cocaine, meth, heroin, non-prescription
painkillers or
opioids.
The Trump administration said it will seek stiffer penalties against drug dealers —
including the death penalty where appropriate under current law — and it wants the number of prescriptions for powerful
painkillers to be cut by one - third nationwide as part of a broad effort to combat the
opioid crisis.
