Have students write
the incorrectly spelled word correctly on a sheet of paper.

Not exact matches
Common errors she sees include misuse of
words («your / you're» and «lose / loose»),
words spelled incorrectly («business» and «finance,» if you can believe it), and overuse of punctuation (namely, commas).
NOTE: We've received a few messages indicating that we've

word Sightings was
incorrectly spelled.
In this case the individual saw the preview of the
word and the stencil on her arm where «beatiful» (aka beautiful) was
spelled incorrectly.
The best practice for passwords is to use real
words or phrases you can remember easily — but
spell them
incorrectly.
Then there's the confusion of similar sounding
words used
incorrectly such as affect versus effect, for
spelled F - O - R, confused with fore used in golfing, and the number four.
Computer
spelling checkers do not catch correctly
spelled words used
incorrectly — «of» for «on,» for example, or «their» for «there.»
A lot of jargon
words or company names, for instance, may not be in the
word processing program's dictionary, but that does not mean they are
spelled incorrectly.
If you are using the wrong
word for a sentence, or it's
spelled incorrectly, fix it accordingly and move on.
It helps you focus on the
spelling of each
word so you can catch anything that was misspelled or used
incorrectly.
The reason: you're probably spending so much time tweaking your resume that you didn't realize you left in unnecessary
words or didn't spot the red squiggle underneath that
word to alert you it was
spelled incorrectly.
Why sabotage the good effect of these
words by
spelling them
incorrectly?
Spelling words incorrectly, speaking ill of a past employer, and including too much information will certainly damage the quality of your resume, but there are other things you should also watch out for.
