Tuesday, September 13 (Seattle)-- West Seattle Elementary School used its first year of School Improvement Grant (SIG) funding to
increase wraparound services, especially necessary for its high - needs student population.

increase college access and support degree completion by providing
wraparound services for students such as child and elder care, transportation, health care
services, family and / or employment counseling, legal aid, and more.
Wraparound services — such as mental health
services and after - school programs — are receiving
increasing attention as schools seek to ensure that students have the full range of supports they need to succeed.
EdWeek's state education blog summed things up: «Evers received a large amount of support from the state's teachers union and campaigned on
increasing public school funding and building more
wraparound services for the state's poor, black, and Latino students.
How can the child welfare agency
increase foster placement options, so children can be stably placed close to their school of origin (i.e., partnering with schools and community agencies in foster parent recruitment and
wraparound services to help maintain placements)?
These components include (1) a Native American parenting curriculum using videos of traditional tribal stories to implement traditional core values of parenting; (2) a classroom curriculum linked in content to the parenting materials; and (3) the use of paraprofessional home visitors and
wraparound funding to
increase service utilization and coordination.
Some sites, such as Redfin, offer lower rates for less
wraparound service, but even Redfin decided last year to flesh out its bare - bones model to cover more home tours and
increased its rates for buyers.
