the increasing cost of a printed book's materials, lots of publishing companies are now being offered to issue e-books.

of the ever -
increasing cost of books, I don't buy as many
print books as I used to.
Digital
printing increases the unit
cost of your
book compared to traditional
printing.
You can provide the loser with an ebook in any format you wish, from free to paid, but remembering that simply using his email address to «gift» him the ebook from Amazon will
cost you less than the price
of your
print book and will
increase your ebook ranking.
Some
of this is sunk
cost, some is ongoing, but unless you believe (as I do) that for now the best way to sell ebooks is to give them away in order to
increase print -
book sales, then there's no good reason to charge these
costs to the ebook's balance sheet.

books surely Foyles would be better advised to put any E-book profits towards
increasing the size
of their E-library or reducing conversion
costs.
If publishers are forced to cut
print runs on top
of absorbing
cost increases, the profit per
book sold will decrease dramatically.
The pictures will not only
increase your editing
costs but the minimum
printing quantity as well: full - color
books usually come with a minimum order quantity
of 1000 pieces.
There are no paper,
print, production
costs; no distribution
costs in a time
of ever
increasing fuel prices; no need for inventory control and yes, let us not forget the bane
of all publishing companies — return
of books!
