The exhibitions program are part of a strategic initiative introduced by the new director of the Glass House, Henry Urbach, who is leading efforts to rededicate the site as a lively, creative cultural center consistent with the spirit and values of its former occupants, renowned architect Philip Johnson and independent curator David Whitney.

Grantees for the third cycle of WaveMaker Grants were selected by an independent juror panel of distinguished artists and arts professionals, including Rosie Gordon Wallace, Founding President and Curator, Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator; Franklin Evans, artist, New York and Ximena Caminos, Chair of Faena Art, Executive Creative Director and partner in Faena Group.

«Degas was the quintessential independent artist, and this exhibition will give visitors a more intimate look into his creative process as well as his public and private life,» said Christoph Heinrich, Frederick and Jan Mayer Director of the DAM.

A Richmond native, Moon is the Founding Creative Director of Richmond's Afrikana Independent Film Festival, an annual multi-day festival that presents the cinematic works of people of color and brings filmmakers, artists, activists, and community members together.

Moon, who is the founder and creative director for Richmond's Afrikana Independent Film Festival, which celebrates the works of artists in the African diaspora, will join the ICA team in January 2018.

Designed by Augusto Mendoza, the 108 - page, full color catalog features essays by independent curator and writer Sue Spaid, a forward by Girls» Club creative director Michelle Weinberg, a curatorial statement by Carol Jazzar and an original work of poetry by Denise Duhamel inspired by the exhibition.

Rasha Salti is an independent curator and freelance writer, working and living in Beirut, she is also creative director of the New York based non-profit ArteEast.

Francesca Grassi is a New York - based independent graphic designer and creative director.

Campbell also serves as creative director and part owner to independent record label, Galaxia, which has released recordings by contemporary artists Tommy Guerrero, Will Oldham, and Black Heart Procession.

Independent was conceived by Elizabeth Dee and Darren Flook and developed in conjunction with creative advisor Matthew Higgs and director Laura Mitterrand.

She currently resides in New York City where she operates an independent creative production house and serves as Artistic Director to art - house perfumery, Folie AÌ $ Plusieurs.

J stayed in Atlanta for 10 years after college working as a music producer, DJ, record label creative director while pursuing an independent art career.
