The Kboards Writer's Cafe (a popular

indie writers hang out and discuss the industry) is chock full of threads about the evils and praises of Kindle Unlimited and how something that might have worked in 2012, now doesn't, and on and on, but there is no denying that new
authors are coming onto the scene and seeing a lot of success all the time, even in 2016 as they did in 2011 - 2012.

The marketing advice most
indie -
authors are given is twofold: establish an internet presence in
forums and on social networking sites, and solicit book bloggers to review their book.
They dive - bomb
forum threads, comment off - topic on blog posts and generally make a nuisance of themselves — and a bad name for
indie authors in general.
Listening in on
forums for readers for some length of time, I learned that they (we) look at the «Look Inside», the price, and the cover to determine if it is an
indie author... some seek us out and some avoid us... but no reader, reviewer or book seller is going to be «fooled» by our imprint.
In late 2011 I joined the Kboards, an online
forum that had become a hotbed of information for
indie authors trying to make inroads in selling digital books.
