At Slickster Magazine we have been covering
the indie game seeing for awhile now, and we are getting flooded with more and more requests from indie game developers.
If you honestly think consumers should spend at least $ 10 on
every indie game they see, you're fooling yourself.
This weeks round up of Xbox
indie games sees 22 new releases and 5 updates.
With so many Xbox One and PC games announced and showcased at E3 2017, some were bound to slip through the cracks — particularly indie titles Here are eight great
indie games we saw at the show that you may have missed.
Not exact matches
With the most impressive graphics I've
seen in an
indie game, this first person psychological - thriller felt like a AAA title at times.
It's been a long time since we last
saw a truly unique
game from the
indie scene.
When Nintendo
indie boss Dan Adelman left the company late last year to help Axiom Verge developer Tom Happ
see his Metroid - vania
game released on PlayStation platforms, plenty of people were surprised.
Don't get me wrong: it's good to
see plenty of
indie developers embracing the Wii U, maybe not specifically the Gamepad, but surely there are plenty of
indie games that have off - TV play right (Runner 2, Rush, Toki Tori2).
While EA has said that they will take a wait - and -
see approach on the Switch for now, they still have a
game coming to the Switch soon: the
indie adventure title «Fe», which will be released on the Switch and other platforms in February.
No single developer has helped the
indie community as much as Curve Digital, so we're excited to
see which
game they'll announce next year and look forward to it being available on the Nintendo eShop.
Limbo makes us thankful that
indie developers have this avenue to get their
games seen by more than just PC users scouring the web for downloads.
A sci - fi space jam that features some of the most unusual applications for a guitar solo ever
seen, The Artful Escape was picked up by Annapurna Pictures as part of the film studio's initial foray into
games — and as far as upstart
indie offerings go, this one's a hell of a light show.

seen many great
indie games like Stardew Valley, A Flame in the Flood, and Axiom Verge make their way onto the Switch this month alone, and with the success of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle we may start
seeing more third - party support as well in the coming months.
Your a real idiot man, ofcourse their not going to talk about it's specs, neither does Microsoft or Sony, tech websites have already taken Wii U apart and looked at it's specs, and said that it's great tech, and the design is clever because of the fact Nintendo is giving you some pretty beefy tech at a low cost, also these tech sites have said, «to
see what Wii U is really capable of, we need to
see games built for it from the ground up», And Nintendo does have a way better understanding of Wii U's hardware, they were even holding classes at GDC last month to tech
indie & 3rd party developers how to cut development time for new
games and ported
games in half, with a new frame work that they developed specifically for Wii U, and your very stupid if you think that developers are not going to need to learn how to develop for PS4 & the next Xbox.

You just don't
see that out of
indie studios, especially with a
game that focuses on story as much as Masquerada does (there is a LOT of voice acting here).

We will have to wait and
see if Sony is coming up with something better or more valuable than
indie games in the coming months now.
After completing a solo mission, you can
see where you rank on the leaderboard then try and climb to the top which is great as a lot of
indie game developers forget that online rankings add a lot of replay value.
I've
seen other staff gush about Bastion, LIMBO, Super Meat Boy, and pretty much every other big
indie game.
Where else can you
see a breathtaking new American
indie, do a little VR, take a break for tacos and beer,
see Elon Musk crash a «Westworld» panel, hear Steven Spielberg self - identify as a
gamer and sing your way across town in a karaoke RV?
Otherwise, it's awesome to
see Geremy Jasper get some love for the acclaimed
indie Patti Cake $, and even though Molly's
Game doesn't seem to be getting tons of awards love this season, Aaron Sorkin certainly deserves recognition for this first time behind a camera.
It's rare to
see an
indie game that boasts as many different gameplay styles as Perfect Universe.
Multiplayer
indie games seem to be all the rage recently and it's easy to
see why with
games as fun and unique as Nidhogg.
It's often compared to the
indie sensation «Super Meat Boy,» which is fitting consdiering both
games force you to navigate an increasingly difficult series of levels in the pursuit of making that one perfect run which will
see you proceed to your next little slice of hell.
It's pretty easy to
see what Epic is trying to do here — they're likely hoping some intrepid
indie developer will take all the old Paragon assets and build a new, hopefully more successful, version of the
game.
Projection is easily a best in show kind of
indie that takes something that seems like you've
seen in a side scrolling 2D
game before, and injec...
StoryBundle is similar to the
indie game bundles you'll
see all over the internet.
Crowdfunding is possibly the most reliable way to make an
indie game now, with some of these campaigns
seeing enormous success.
Or have we
seen the golden age for
indie games?
I think most
indie devs who can't afford losing sales on their small length
games are probably going to stick to BUNDLES as we
see around, so the refund police doesn't go around.
Don't be down by the negativity, hit that price point on all major outlets and
see your
game being a staple of
indie gaming for years.
I could
see with the variety of
games each cameo someone one day could make their own fighter adding
indie characters.
Hell, maybe we'll
see Warner Bros. cash in on the current trend of
indie horror
games where everything is pitch black.
Sony specifically says content for ps platforms... this could be anything from actual
games (aa) ps3, ps4 to
indie games, downloadable content and ps vita
games (timed or complete exclusive)... Sony didn't say exclusve ps4 titles and they did that for a reason... but let's
see how it goes... maybe white knight 2is n development and the next yakuza (always wanted to try that one out)..
This sort of crafting has been fairly common in
indie games since Minecraft made the scene, but I've never
seen it used like this.
We have the Vikings tv series on History (my favorite show on cable), really cool
indie games like The Banner Saga and Jotun, the Minnesota Vikings are getting a new stadium and, at least, the people of Minnesota will be able to go to the Super Bowl (yes, the Vikings are also my favorite football team... you can
see my life starting to suck, can't you) and, of course, all sorts of metal featuring Vikings.
The
Game Developers Conference, Penny Arcade Expo, and Independent Games Festival are the more common conventions for
indie developers and having a booth at E3 is
seen more as a dream.

see just how amazing lighting can be and how much it can add to a
game, very stylish and very different, this is an
indie game that look like art and doesn't play too badly either.
Of course, there are plenty of fantastic
indie games and other titles in the works that you won't
see here, but these are more or less the 59
games that will be driving the industry forward in the not - too - distant future.

They're all very well written, and the
game even has full voice acting, which you don't
see often in
indie games like this.

The way publishing is going to be handled will be a big part of this, so we'll have to wait to
see exactly how prominent the
indie games will be on Xbox Live.
