The Joan Mitchell Foundation has historically provided funding to arts organizations nationally that support
individual visual artists in their respective communities.
Based on the Foundation's role in New Orleans and commitment to its dynamic arts community, we are excited to support these organizations so invested in the city's
individual visual artists.
Since 2007, the Foundation has been developing programs and granting initiatives that support the unique and valued legacies of
individual visual artists.
Now entering its thirtieth year of grant making, The Pollock - Krasner Foundation, Inc. has reaffirmed its mission of supporting
individual visual artists worldwide.
We offer grants to
individual visual artists through two programs: an annual Individual Support Grant and a separate program to assist visual artists in cases of catastrophic events through an Emergency Grant program.

artist Magalie Guérin on being awarded a Pollock - Krasner Foundation Grant.The Pollock - Krasner Foundation, Inc. was established in 1985 for the sole purpose of providing financial assistance to
individual working
visual artists of established ability through the generosity of the late Lee Krasner, one of the leading abstract expressionist painters and the widow of Jackson Pollock.

Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture Location: Skowhegan, ME Skowhegan, an intensive nine - week summer residency program for emerging
visual artists established in 1946, seeks each year to bring together a gifted and diverse group of
individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to art - making and inquiry to create the most stimulating and rigorous environment possible for a concentrated period of artistic creation, interaction and growth.
It is also a kind of
visual memorial to South Africa's rich musical past in that each label represents an
