Over the years, all sorts of observers have argued that skimpy teacher salaries keep highly qualified
individuals out of the profession.

Mostly women, they teach for a few years, then leave the
profession to raise a family, or take an
out -
of - state teaching position (again, often for family reasons), or pursue another occupation — perhaps a career where salaries are not lock - step increments handed
out with no regard whatsoever to
individual merit.
The organization believes putting real stories
of real lawyers
out there will help to change that perception as
individuals generally respect their own lawyers, just not the
profession as a whole.
Section 52
of CJA 1993 sets
out the three offences
of insider dealing: section 52 (1) creates the basic dealing offence providing that an
individual who has information as an insider is guilty
of insider dealing if: he deals in securities that are price - affected securities in relation to the information; and such dealing occurs on a regulated market or the
individual relies on a professional intermediary or is himself acting as a professional intermediary; section 52 (2) creates two secondary offences: encouraging another person to deal ie an
individual who has information as an insider encourages another person to deal in securities that are price — affected securities; or disclosing information ie an
individual who has information as an insider discloses the information otherwise than in the proper performance
of his employment, office or
profession to another person.
Again, the legal
profession from City firms to sole practitioners mounted a staunch opposition, pointing
out that it would not only restrict access to justice for
individuals and smaller businesses, but damage the reputation
of London as an international centre for legal dispute resolution.
They tend to be
individuals who can not make a go
of practicing the
profession for which they were ostensibly educated and licensed — the incompetent, the inexperienced, the nincompoops, the untalented, the lazy and / or the burnt -
out.
