According to the

The release date was revealed during today's Nintendo Direct presentation, along with some gameplay footage, a new
Amiibo, and
information on an upcoming network test prior to the game's launch.
It's pretty bare at the moment, but additional
information on «Games Modes,» «How to Play,» the «
Amiibo Card,» and «My Town» will be available soon.
An all new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD has been released
on Amazon Germany with a wealth of new
information about how
amiibo will function in the game.

amiibo cards - scan them and they will enter the house or scene - cards also give requests from characters before you even meet them in the game - some characters are exclusive to the cards - put data back
on the card and give that
information to the friend

information we got today includes official box arts for several games, release dates for
amiibo, as well as some release dates
on games such as Star Fox Zero.

So, yea, the announcement trailer is weird, but it gives plenty of
information on the functionality of these three
amiibo.
The exact nature of the upgrade for each
amiibo was not detailed but we will likely get more
information on Metroid Prime: Federation Force as we get closer to the release date.
Nintendo has released limited
information on this issue, the only
Amiibo the company has confirmed will receive restocks is Marth.
