including specialties from Campania, Calabria, Puglia and Sicily), Epirus, and South Aegean — winner of the «European Region of Gastronomy 2019» Award — promoting Greek delicacies from across its 50 +
inhabited islands.
While this misty genesis unfolds, the
island's most eminent residentdiscusses notions that still perplex him after seven decades in physics,
including his gut feeling that the very universe may be constantly emerging from a haze of possibility, that we
inhabit a cosmos made real in part by our own observations.
Fanned by winds that shifted suddenly to the east, the fallout plume spread high levels of radioactivity over an area that stretched for hundreds of kilometers and
included several
inhabited islands.
The
islands have also been home to the Chumash, who
inhabited them for thousands of years, and to more recent residents
including ranchers, the military, and the U.S. Coast Guard.
The azure waters that surround the
islands are
inhabited by an astonishing array of marine creatures; over 1,200 species of fish
including clown fish, trigger fish, blue tangs, 12 species of whales and dolphin, anemones, soft coral and much more.
The itinerary
includes a visit to Tristan da Cunha, an archipelago of small
islands in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean that are said to be the most remote
inhabited isles in the world.
This will
