When we

windows I had the
kitchen one put in counter height.
Of course, the
kitchen includes hallmarks of the family's history: Above the range is Erin's dad's collection of vases, on the wall are vintage foodie prints that belonged to her stepmother (a former cook) and up high is a tiny stained - glass
window installed by Erin's grandfather (which can be opened using a quirky pulley system Erin kept in place).

I would like to replace a large upper cabinet that is between my fridge and
kitchen window; this will allow for me to shorten the counter top and
install a wider fridge.
I would LOVE to rip out all my upper cabinets and
install windows all the way across the wall in my
kitchen.
The round
window that was supposed to be
installed in our
kitchen last week wasn't on the truck as expected, so it wasn't delivered and is not in my
kitchen.
Of course we'll have to move our dishes to the other side of the
kitchen when we
install windows across that wall, but that's okay.
Fortunately my
kitchen is not really big, but
installing tile all around the cabinets from the floor to ceiling, around the door frame and around the
window over the sink will make a BIG statement!
It appears the wood floors throughout the house were lightened, a brand new and nearly all white
kitchen was
installed with thickly veined slab marble counter tops and a vintage range, and just about every interior surface and architectural detail, including most
window frames and the tile floors in the circular foyer and staircase, has been slathered in crisp white paint that we can all be certain will flabbergast a persnickety architectural preservationist or two.
Don't have the small fortune to blow out the wall and
install one and a solar tube in the ceiling (as I have in the
kitchen) would bring in light but would probably end up looking as if I had the fluorescent on all the time (in the
kitchen I also have 2
windows over the corner sink and a sliding patio door).
In this
kitchen, a bank of sturdy shelves has been
installed directly over the
window trim and painted the same crisp white as the trim and surrounding cabinetry.
When

kitchen's open and airy feel.
New
windows were

In London, where it gets pitch black by 4 pm in wintertime, it should be compulsory to have large
windows like the Dutch do and it is why we
