Instead of using
vanilla powder, I actually just cut a small part straight out
of the
vanilla bean.
Since I wanted the
vanilla flavor to be front and center, I opted for real
vanilla bean instead of extract.
If you opt for a
vanilla bean instead of vanilla extract, boil with scraped
vanilla seeds and a
vanilla pod all together and then strain the syrup when it's still hot.
I pretty much followed the recipe with the exception
of using
vanilla beans instead of extract.
