integrated coastal zone management and climate change.
This fact sheet briefly presents an environmental project financed by the Least Developed Countries Fund to promote climate change adaptation and
integrated coastal zone management in Yemen.

Local governments and actors may face difficulties in identifying the most suitable and efficient approaches because of the diversity of possible approaches, from infrastructure development to «softer» approaches such as
integrated watershed and
coastal zone management.

To mitigate these problems, ICPAC's marine,
coastal / aquatic sector has a goal of: enhancing the application of climate information and prediction products for early warning of climate related marine hazards and
integrated planning, and management of
coastal zones and wetlands resources
The expected outputs range from
integrating climate change risks into development planning and
coastal zoning regulation to diversifying livelihoods to finding more secure sources of water in communities where saline intrusion is a problem (Community Based Adaptation to Climate Change through
Coastal Afforestation).
