Now Microsoft to Release
Interactive Live Tiles...
All three of those options offer
interactive Live Tiles to keep you updated on what's happening in the world.
Microsoft has been «prototyping»
interactive Live Tiles for a long time, but «trying to get it right» before committing.
It's not the OneDrive placeholders that you were looking for, or
the interactive live tiles, but it's a start.
The above concept video from 2014 shows that Microsoft's been thinking about
interactive Live Tiles for some time.
There's already some speculation that one of those surprises could be the reveal of
interactive Live Tiles for Windows 10, but again we will have to wait until the final day of Build to find out.
In thinking how this model can be pushed further, Microsoft Research in the past has demonstrated so - called
Interactive Live Tiles.
The promise of
interactive Live Tiles on top of active Toast notifications is looking to create a very powerful, but intuitive system for users.
Interactive live tiles can even live in the multitasking sidebar, letting you, for example, browse your OneDrive files and drag an item straight from that into your working app.

While the McLaren phone was scrapped, Microsoft has not completely abandoned
the Interactive Live Tiles yet.
Here, Microsoft mentioned how
Interactive Live Tiles are being developed and «coming to Window 10 in one of its future updates.»
But here's hoping that
interactive live tiles will arrive with the second Redstone iteration later this year.
Interactive Live Tiles would greatly improve the user experience on Windows 10 Mobile, helping to achieve Microsoft's original ambition with Windows Phone to have people looking down less at their phones.
In terms of features, we're pretty much in the dark for now, but one feature that we could potentially see is
Interactive Live Tiles.
Not exact matches
The
interactive and
live tile for entertainment, for example, shows the current song selection with an image of the album cover.
Interactive toast notifications now reflect the rich information displayed on
Live Tiles giving users a more consistent user capability along with more detailed notifications.

Live Tiles are still coming to Windows 10 in a future update.
For instance,
Live Tile's must always display the latest information, must have notifications for all apps, should be more
interactive, and the return of the Me
Tile with added functionality are just some things Microsoft should bring to the table.
This gives key apps a huge portion of the screen, like the aforementioned
Live Tiles, only without the style or the
interactive element, and shoves the rest into crude «others» and «downloads» sections.
Windows 10 Redstone Update may also introduce
interactive Action Center, improvements to Cortana and
Live Tiles.
