acquire intercultural skills that are essential to good citizenship.
The Center of Excellence for Diversity and Inclusion in Veterinary Medicine, developed by the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in partnership with the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges and American Veterinary Medical Association, is a virtual resource and training center designed to provide veterinary students, professionals, and support staff
with intercultural skills needed to be successful in an increasingly diverse world.
The aim is to assess students» knowledge and understanding of global issues, intercultural knowledge and understanding, and analytical and critical thinking, while recognising that students need a practical sense of what these concepts mean for everyday life and opportunities to practice
their intercultural skills (p. 18).
