It isn't until you fight the Covetous Demon that you get
an interesting boss design, but the fight is universally unpopular as the boss is a giant slug.

Crown of the Sunken King is an intense DLC: the new area is well
designed, the three
bosses are hard to beat, and the new items
interesting.
The reviewer states that the dull level
designs don't offer any challenge, but then he states that there IS a challenge in some of the «cheaper» tricks in the game and the
interesting boss battles.
But it's the
boss fights where things get really
interesting, despite following the generic «shoot it in the blowing bit»
design philosophy.

interesting when they take on the form of plentiful
boss fights — well -
designed battles that test your brain much more than they do your brawn, like one battle in limbo where you play a game of Simon Says with a ghost king to deal damage to him.
It expressed great
interest, though, in the more standard 3D of the
boss fight segments, and told them to scrap the project and instead focus on making a game based solely around that
design.
My early impressions of Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption are incredibly positive, the combat feels good and the
boss designs are
interesting.
And while the character
designs of Beck and the
bosses were
interesting as concept art, their translation to 3D models mostly feels lifeless and flat.
While the environments in the game are rendered beautifully and
designed with
interesting hazards that can be used to gain advantage against opponents, the collision in some spaces seems a bit harsh especially in some of the
boss fight arenas.
The included Strike mission does something
interesting with its
boss battle by making it a multi-stage fight involving an arena
designed to keep players on their toes.
As long as the story of each chapter is deeper than the generic New Super Mario Bros style «reach the end of the levels» plot, and the
bosses have
interesting designs and motivations, then I don't think Bowser being the main villain would be much of an issue.
