Meppayil rose to international prominence in 2013 as one of the stand - outs of Massimiliano Gioni's The Encyclopedic Palace at the Venice Biennale, which enshrined «outsider artists» and reconnected contemporary creativity to time - honoured and painstaking manual labor.

The shortlist for the Prize, announced on July 27, 2016, was selected by an international jury that included Kitty Scott, the AGO's Carol and Morton Rapp Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art; Russell Ferguson, Professor in the Department of Art at the University of California; and Stan Douglas, acclaimed artist and filmmaker.

Originally commissioned as»11 Rooms» by Manchester International Festival, the International Arts Festival RUHRTRIENNALE 2012 - 2014 and Manchester Art Gallery, this landmark exhibition will now be extended and presented at Pier 2/3 in Sydney's Walsh Bay including new and re-imagined works, specially commissioned for this project, by some of the world's most celebrated contemporary artists spanning six continents.

The Suzanne Deal Booth Art Prize at The Contemporary Austin is a biennial, unrestricted international art award of $ 100,000 to be given to an artist selected every two years, which also includes a solo exhibition, a scholarly publication, and related public programming.

Located at the Fashion Industry Gallery — adjacent to the Dallas Museum of Art in the revitalized downtown Arts District — the 2013 Dallas Art Fair will feature over 80 prominent national and international art dealers and galleries exhibiting painting, sculpture, works on paper, photography, video, and installation by modern and contemporary artists.

Hanga Ten will be exhibiting at the 20/21 International Art Fair in South Kensington (15 - 18 May), showcasing a selection of original prints by contemporary Japanese artists.

The curator Okwui Enwezor's provocative 2008 exhibition at the International Center of Photography «Archive Fever: Uses of the Document in Contemporary Art» (the title of which references philosopher Jacques Derrida's 1995 book, Archive Fever) highlighted numerous examples of artists who employ archival documents in their work.
