international New Contemporary
artists and showcases the diversity of female
figurative art and portraiture from around the world.
Returning to Poland in 1951, she established a reputation as a
figurative sculptor through official commissions, such as the 1953 «Monument to Russian - Polish Friendship», and in 1958 she was one of seven shortlisted
artists in an
international competition chaired by Henry Moore to create a memorial to Auschwitz.

Ninety paintings by twenty - seven
artists made up the Städel Museum's comprehensive exhibition on the
figurative painting that emerged in West Germany around 1980 in the Berlin «Galerie am Moritzplatz», the studio community «Mülheimer Freiheit» in Cologne, in Düsseldorf and in Hamburg and rapidly attained
international recognition.
The gallery is located at the same address as Last Rites in New York, which has moved to the second floor mezzanine gallery, where it will showcase works by
international artists working in a variety of media and
figurative styles.
Born in Karlsruhe in 1969, the
artist teaches
figurative arts at the Frankfurter Städelschule and has exhibited in institutions including the PRAXES Centre for Contemporary Art, Berlin (2014), Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt (2013), Malmö Konsthall, Malmö (2012) and
international events such as documenta 13, Kassel (2012) and the Liverpool Biennial (2014).
