In practice, the privileges of the Official Opposition go far further, for example through frontbenchers» established right to speak
at the start and end of most debates, and to
intervene during oral question
times (including Prime Minister's Questions), plus an expectation that the Speaker will select
important opposition amendments for debate
at report stage of government bills.
