The first contact with the cohort was
at infant age 9 months, when mothers and their partners were
interviewed in their homes and information obtained on a number of factors including the circumstances of pregnancy and
delivery, and infant feeding practices since birth.21 The overall response rate was 72 %.19
The first study of its kind, «Being there: a qualitative
interview study with fathers present during the resuscitation of their baby
at delivery» (Harvey & Pattison, 2012) is a retrospective analysis of semi-structured
interviews with 20 fathers who had witnessed the resuscitation of their baby immediately following
delivery.
