I just
made this and it hasn't turned
into a
nut butter.
To
make the filling place the
nuts in a food processor and allow them to blend
into a
nut butter, this should take about 5 - 10 minutes depending on the strength of your processor.
I used to alway just slightly roast mine before
making into a
nut butter, and i've had success every time and never need to add oil.
I
make a lot of
nut butters and pestos but want to get
into making smoothies and soups.
Make sure that the
nut butter is fully integrated
into the seed / date mixture.

We like to simply add them to oatmeal though lately I have been
making energy bites in my food processor with dates and
nut butter and a little honey, and then stirring in hemp hearts and puffed brown rice and forming the mixture
into balls!
It's so simple to
make though — once the ingredients are in the food processor it takes around 20 mins to turn
into a silky
nut butter, plus you can leave it to do it's thing (apart from the occasional scrape along the sides).

I haven't
made these
into pancakes but I've
made similar muffins recipes
into pancakes and I've always had to reduce the amount of oats to about 1 cup and use coconut oil instead of
nut butter.
Plus, I didn't have any cupcake liners (what people usually use to
make nut butter cups), so we poured these straight
into my nonstick mini muffin pan and crossed our fingers that they'd come out in one piece.
