practice groups might decide that it makes more sense to have separate sites to focus on different users.

into a
niche.
In northern England, there has been a rise in lateral hires at partner level as firms diversify
into more
niche practice areas, such as intellectual property and IT.
You may choose to focus your blog on a geographical region (i.e., Chicago lawyer),
practice area (i.e., intellectual property advice),
niche subject (i.e., legal news,
practice tips, getting
into law school) or another topic.
Other objectives might include increasing your client base in a certain
practice area or
niche, expanding
into a new
practice area, generating new business from existing clients, increasing the quality of your client base, increasing your exposure to a certain target audience, generating more leads, creating a better sales pipeline, or allowing you more freedom, among others
For example, in my shift from a quasi-legal role at an investment bank
into a student - at - law position, I drew on my
niche experience with OTC derivatives as my connector and targeted law firms that had an existing
practice in that
area or was building one out.
It is better to identify a
niche, immerse yourself
into that culture and their business
practices, and build your expertise in that
area.
