Tracing projects generated by the Trust — realised and unrealised — the material gives a unique insight into the evolution of public art and charts a major shift from permanent bronze and stone figures to temporary interventions, installations and projections.

Celine Condorelli works with art and architecture, combining a number of approaches from developing structures for «supporting» (the work of others, forms of political imaginary, existing and fictional realities) to broader enquiries into forms of commonality and discursive sites, resulting in projects merging exhibitions, politics, fiction, display, public space, sound, writing, and whatever else feels urgent at the time.

In addition to working for cultural institutions, he also maintains an active independent curatorial practice and is currently developing a public art project titled Mexico 68 that looks into the residual infrastructure of the infamous 1968 Olympics that took place in Mexico City with the support of the Graham Foundation.

The public's engagement in the assessment and voting on the the art projects transformed the Award into an occasion for collective learning and the expansion of the discourse instigated by and around the projects.

Bureau for Open Culture projects often interweave curators, writers, educators, artists, and co-conspirators into situations that undermine engrained behaviors of institutions, forging new intersections among art, design, education, and consumer culture to rethink how institutions address and engage the public and build community.

Using social media, public art in the form of a sculpture, and video documentation, the project is Roescheisen's first to transfer art and digital media into a peace dialogue on the global stage.

For his most ambitious project to date, commissioned by the Landmarks public art programme at the University of Texas at Austin, Parlá transforms a 4,000 - sq - foot site into a panoramic landscape evocative of Austin's natural and urban environment.
