The PadFone can exist in three different states — as just the phone itself, as a tablet (by putting the phone

When you
dock the
tablet into the keyboard, it should allow the processor to run higher and the system to get hotter, since you won't be holding it.
The big standout feature of this
tablet is that it can connect to a
docking station of sorts that will turn the
tablet into a bonafide netbook.
The
tablet portion snaps easily
into the
dock (you have to remove some rubbery pads at the bottom of the
tablet first) and locks itself in.
The laptop
dock is nice too, turning the
tablet into a super thin Ultrabook - like device powered by Honeycomb.

into the
tablet, which in turn can have a larger energy pool with the keypad

tablet along with a micro SD card slot, a mini HDMI port, and a port for attaching a
docking station as well.
The other Acer
tablet, the W510 is more of a Transformer type device with a separate keypad unit to which the 10.1 inch
tablet can
dock into.
For what started with a 10.1 inch sized Transformer device that doubled up as a netbook / laptop when attached to a keypad, and has evolved
into the AiO where the display (once detached from the
docking base) behaves as a
tablet unit.
But at least you get both a keyboard
dock and the Samsung S Pen, with the pen folding
into the back of the
tablet.
The few additional widgets, email app and dynamic switching when you want to
dock the phone
into the
tablet, just add to the experience.
Seating the
tablet into the
dock is also rather clever: the connector tilts vertically, so finding the right angle of approach is decidedly simple.
If you want to use it in keyboard / stand mode, you flip up the magnetic kickstand in the keyboard, and the magnets guide the
tablet into place, where an 8 - pin
dock joins the two.
Looking at the bottom of the
tablet, you'll notice the same
dock connectors as are present on the Intel - powered Ativ device (which is quite a bit chunkier and heavier), meaning you should be able to connect both Ativs
into the keyboard
dock we've seen on show here today.
So the rush is on to produce powerful machines that can switch from
tablet to fully featured PC, in a moment — usually by
docking the
tablet section
into a keyboard.

The game - changing Asus Eee Pad Transformer combined a great standalone
tablet with a keyboard
