The Baylor research focused on a class of 218 students in
an introductory sociology class at Baylor, a private research university of about 15,000 students.
Classes numbering hundreds of students — particularly in
introductory courses — have become common at many universities, said researchers Kevin Dougherty, Ph.D., associate professor of
sociology in Baylor's College of Arts and Sciences, and Brita Andercheck, a doctoral candidate in
sociology at Baylor.
