Stackhouse's entire argument seems to require the view that adequacy both to the ideal
unity of the «Christian thing» and to the reality of pluralism requires that one be a «realist» of some sort.8 It also seems to require rejection of the «nominalist» view that pluralism is finally
irreducible.
