As a tip, I've
been making granola
with applesauce instead of oil (and often leave out sugar too...) enough that it makes a thick almost batter in the pan — the down side,
is that it takes about 90 minutes at low heat to cook.

are perfectly crisp on the outside, tender on the inside and taste amazing

with applesauce and no greek yogurt.

I added close to 1/3 cup in my version and since I
was making changes anyway, decided to use nonfat milk, replaced the oil
with double the amount in
applesauce and added some lemon extract hoping to really make the lemon flavor pop.
