One of the bigger news
items coming out of the Game Developers Conference this week is the reveal of OnLive, a new gaming service that wants to make our beloved consoles obsolete.

When the first images
came out I felt it was kinda dull on the graphics, but after seeing images
of different characters, stages,
items, and actual gameplay (with better quality than those 720p ND videos), I started to see the
game in a new light.
Closers would be better being retooled as a side scrolling action
game played on a 2D plane, but with all
of the complexity
of an MMO when it
comes to
items and equipment, and none
of the fun
of a classic action
game when playing through stages, you're best off forgetting about the drawn -
out grind fest that is Closers.
Anyway, if we pay for something on the
game and the
game goes offline, we should get something back, like another
item in another
game of the company or our money back, anyways, I love you all, go burn in hell for a while like on Faxion Online or go be burned by a dragon like on Fantasy Earth Zero,
games whose time I spent didn't
come back on my pleasure, Faxion was just too crappy, FEZ was good but no way to find
out about it's existence, well, that's it.
- after the remakes
of Terry's Wonderland 3D and Dragon Quest Monsters 2, Yuji Horii asked the team what should be next - the choices were Caravan Heart (GBA), a professional version
of Dragon Quest Monsters 2, or a brand new
game - the staff made the plot together with Takeshi Uchikawa (who is currently directing Dragon Quest XI)- the suggestion was to make the theme become something catchy, which lead to a science fiction vibe - Horii said «anything's alright as long as it's interesting» - the creation
of the Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light helped build Joker 3 - fan feedback from the mobile
game was used, which lead to monster stats being seen - the Reactor device lets you easily see all the things that occur on the field - the team had some trouble bringing together the ridable monsters aspect
of the
game, but eventually worked it
out - the full
game starts off with monsters that players can ride on land - you'll eventually unlock sea, air, and multi-jump land rising monsters - a «Big Air ride» was teased as well - by clearing the story, features will be unlocked that further modify monsters such as abilities and changing their sizes - Stealth Boxes which can not be found without using the Reactor only contains useful
items that are optional - compulsory
items that are needed to be found with the Reactor are placed in non-stealth locations - accessories can strengthen monsters, but monster strength is mainly determined from raising and combining them - features more offense - related content in the form
of new spells and skills - new water - type spells are included - new skills added enable more detailed adjustments in versus, adding more strategic features - one
of the
items that can be bought with Communication Coins has the same effect with «Key
of Encounters» - this lets players recruit monsters a bit more easily they've befriended before - since Communication Coins can only be obtained from multiplayer battles, it's completely optional - people who still do StreetPass but don't want to do multiplayer battles can still get them by combining monsters - DLC monsters are planned to be added regularly post-release until around Golden Week (April 29 — May 5)- - A national tournament is also planned, with more details
coming later - carryover feature from Dragon Quest Monsters 2 that
comes into play after the ending - players can bring up to 10 monsters which are ranked A or below from DQM2 to DQMJ3 each day

item shops, weapon shops, and more - Tomoki Miyoshi, who composed the music for I Am Setsuna, is working on the music
of Lost Sphear - there won't be any battles occurring on the world map - battles start when you approach enemies - devs say more than the 4 characters revealed thus far will join your party - one
of your characters can get special armor at some point which helps you become stronger - you will
come across «Lost,» a mysterious white mist that represents something that was forgotten - the story starts
out with the heroes finding
out their town had gone Lost
These
came in the form
of item descriptions and small amounts
of dialogue from NPCs, this allowed those that were after just the
game play with
out much
of a story line (not that it was without its story driven progression) to focus more on arguably its most renowned feature, it's combat system.
The
game also includes all DLC from the first
game and the Japanese release
of the
game, which
comes out to around 300 DLC
items.
The addition
of Amiibo support to unlock in -
game items is cool but I've had a Master Sword on the PC since the
game came out.
With the addition
of new event scenes, such as the massive hole in the school classroom, there are extra
items such as the «Jacob's ladder» (this is a nautical term for a specialist type
of rope ladder — though ironically the film
came out after the
game so the two are unconnected).
One
of the better recent
games to
come out recently is Guild Wars; there is no continual
item progression after you hit max level (which you can do in about a week).
