The simplest way to make kefir soda is to use approximately one Alcoholic fermentation is the conversion
of quart
of mineral - rich
water, such as spring
water (a quart canning
jar size with about an inch left at the top), 4 to 6 tablespoons
of grains and 3 to 4 tablespoons sugar.
Strain out the
water kefir
grains and refrigerate the liquid (no metal please), clean the mason
jar, and repeat the process for a new batch
of water kefir.

of kefir
grains in a 500 ml glass
jar and fill it up with milk or
water to ferment.

grains into a small
jar with some sugar
water and put them in the fridge.

I read the problem could be contamination, too high
of a mineral content in the
water (but that makes
grains slimy and mine are not), overcrowding (but the
jars were pretty much the same, with the proportions in the recipe above), or a lack
of nutrients (but again, the
jars were the same).
