Knowing their stories and getting to really know them includes getting to know where they come from and discovering some of the things that have been their
joys in life, as
well as the things that have caused them pain.
The
joy of the gospel of marriage springs from charity: 2 the same charity that compels bishops3 to faithfully proclaim the
good news of marriage revealed
in Christ; the same charity that is inseparable from the Truth, who frees the human person and reveals to him what it means to be human.4 Only
in Jesus does every human being discover what it means to be truly human, to be made for God and to
live in relationship with God, to have true happiness.
aaaaaan then by historical account, after the disciples left their homes, gave all they had and hung out with poor people «to keep their
good economic standing,» cried
in joy from beatings because they could serve Christ and not the world, and all of the twelve but one were beaten thoroughly and executed, becuase the one who
lived was placed
in boiling oil and WOULD NOT DIE
in front of thousands of viewers... «tooooo keep their «
good economic standing?»»
Rather, the way is indicated to the abiding enrichment, fulfillment, and
joy of
life that follow from abandoning self - will, the quest for success and power, and the demand for autonomy,
in favor of dedication to the right and
good.
Within this frame, these nameless Hebrew poets succeeded
in giving supreme expression to the basic rhythms of inner
life: bleak despair
in the face of accumulated disaster, stubborn hope, gratitude, exultation, rhapsodic celebration of the splendors of creation, contentment
in the quiet
joys of the
good life.

I sat down at the computer again to try to find a few words to say how I find God
in this daily place and
in this work, how I only learned to pray when I began to pray with my hands and my attention on purpose and how most of prayer to me now is listening and abiding, how I believe it would be nice to have a lovely housekeeper and a clean house and to create amazing soaring art with all of the white space of an uncluttered
life and glorious heights of transcendent spirituality, I guess, but I need the God who sits
in the mud and
in the cold wind,
in the laundry pile and
in the city park, who embodies grief and
joy, wisdom and patience, loneliness as companionship, renewal with simplicity and a
good deep breath, and who even now shows up
in the unlikeliest and homeliest of
lives too, as a sacrament of and blessing for the ordinary things.
There was an old lady who
lived in a shoe, she had so many children — she had so many children she'd welcomed, that she became kind of a bottomless
well of
joy, that she drank from a
well of youth, and welcoming children had her become
well in her soul.
The only way Christianity is
good news for the world is if Christians
live the Christmas message all year round — this message of a baby born
in a stable, this message of peace, and hope, and
joy.
But one day I finally reached the precipice of my
life thus far and found myself
in the understanding that I was me with or without God... and I was
good... and the I loved people... and that happiness and
joy are not contingent on God.
And if it turns out
in the end that all of this is bunk, that the Bible is a lie,
well then, we have no sure way of knowing what eternity holds and any religious belief is as
good as another, and we should choose a way of
living which helps us show love towards others and helps us
live a
life with a sense of the divine that brings hope,
joy, and peace to our
life.
The wisdom of
life lies
in the discovery that
joy belongs only to him who can submit all his own hopes to the cause of the great community of
good which
life on earth can never fully define or capture.
... He is therefore happy
in God, yea, always happy, as having
in him «a
well of water springing up into everlasting
life», and «overflowing his soul with peace and
joy.»
That ultimate
good, as I understand it, is the achievement of the greatest possible fullness of
life in every
living creature
in a continuing process which opens up ever enlarging possibilities of experiencing the
joy of being.
To celebrate Christmas is to share the
good news of great
joy with the people who have no
joy in their
lives.
We receive Him with the
joy of Zacchaeus (Luke 19:6), rejoice over our newfound source of
living water offered to us
in grace like the woman at the
well (John 4:1 - 30) and share the
joy of Jesus» disciples as they discovered that even the demons are subject to Him (Luke 10:17).
In Jesus» case it was a combination of factors — such as the fervent longing of oppressed people, their religious preparation and ethical sensitivity, the remarkable personal power of Jesus, and the particular circumstances of his death — which produced among his followers a mental and emotional situation favorable to the attainment of a remarkable new intensity of
life, marked by love, loyalty, courage and
joy, all for the sake of the Master, who had sacrificed his
life for them and for the larger
good he saw through them.
In fantasy's portrayal of such choices is a keen awareness of the terror of
life as
well as its
joy.
I find
joy in making
lives better.
What I'm trying to suggest is that being worried / depressed is not the consequence of this participation with Jesus but
joy, peace fullness of
life etc.
well in my experience at least.
That's one of the
joys of the franchise: prequels notwithstanding, they're a deliciously simple story — it's about
good against evil, an underdog upsetting the odds, a final shot at redemption for a corrupt character... It's a story we want to inhabit and make real
in our
lives.
Well I sat back and thought a while, then tried a different ploy, Now, Lord, I said, the
Good book says that Christians
live in joy.
As to the divine consequence, it is the growing awareness of a cosmic Love, a cosmic Lover, that holds us tight, that never lets us go, that stays with us
in all our problems and troubles and sufferings as
well as
in our
joys and delights, that
lives with us and for us, and that
in the end receives us into his own
life — where we are forever loved
in the Love that endures, beyond all «changes and chances,»
in the everlastingness that is God himself.
The end - product of prayer is conformity with God's purposes,
joy in his fellowship, newness of
life with him and with our brethren, and the recognition that (
in Paul's words from Romans) «God works towards a
good end, and
in every respect, for those who love him.»
They wish to marry, to share their
lives together, to share
in the
joy of family... so, yes, that would include having sex together as
well.
Gil if we only received one blessing
in this
life and that was eternal
life in Jesus Christ that alone would be enough but we are blessed way more than that because we have been sent his holy spirit to help us overcome our old nature. He never leaves us nor forsakes us whether
good or bad happens he strengthens us
in our weakness.It says
in the bible that the rain falls on both the righteous or the wicked God is fair to all whether they deserve it or not he can not be anything else than a holy righteous loving and fair God.I do nt need to convince you to believe about God he will reveal himself to you if you are seeking the truth as he is the truth.I do nt try and make others believe its pointless.I know without a doubt that i am saved and my sins are forgiven. As a christian it will a
joy to be with the Lord there is no fear
in death for those that love him.
In the meantime i serve him with all my heart until he calls me home.I love talking about the Lord but each of us must walk according to what we believe.I trust my
life to Jesus Christ and i choose to follow him who do you follow?
Thus
good and evil, suffering and
joy,
life and death are all reconciled
in a single overarching framework.
Is not the value of your
best friend
in your friend's trusted persistent presence
in your friend's
life - altering influence
in the
joy of the relationship?
He intensifies our
joy and excitement
in the pleasant experiences of
life, as
well as comforts and sustains us
in times of distress and grief.
Robert Lynn has brilliantly shown how the McGuffy readers purveyed a religious and republican ideology, including a powerful stress on the common
good and the
joys of participation
in the public
life, during much of the nineteenth century.12
It acknowledges the bullying force of death but also
life's usurping of it, the validation of our suffering and grief as
well as our courage and
joy in the midst of them.
At the other extreme are those moments of ecstatic
joy which are the zenith
in our quest for the
good life.
I had been pursuing and activating
joy in my
life in the relatively
good times, now I had to do it
in the midst of darkness, depression, torturous pain.
Tears of pain and
joy openly and unashamedly accepted from time to time,
in parents as
well as
in children, teach a child the value of deep feeling
in experiencing
life to its fullest.
They strive to make known the proper nature of man, his problems and his experiences... revealing man's place
in history and
in the world,... illustrating the miseries and
joys, the needs and strengths of man,... foreshadowing a
better life for him.
Above all, it is
good and necessary for Christian people to pray together, as
well as to pray privately, to come together regularly and faithfully
in order to receive grace for daily
living, to praise God, to thank him, to intercede before him, and to find
in him their truest «
joy and salvation.»
In my experience, if a person gets to a place of contentment, they are
better equipped to bring
joy into the
lives of others because they don't need to focus so much attention inwardly.
They do not have real
life, which is full of tears, lamentation, and «HAN» (a deep sense of justice rising
in people's hearts, when they are wronged
in history), as
well as
joy and happiness.
We try our
best to
live according to the Church's teaching on marriage and family
life and we are here today to talk about some of the
joys and challenges of doing this
in today's world.
It's so easy to let the pain recoccur because we think we deserve to feel it, but finding the
joy in continuing to
live our
best life day after day is where I think it's necessary to shine.
It's also the spreading of
good times and fond memories; the union of cultures as different nationalities gather at a single table to partake
in home - cooked food; and the knowledge that it is a celebration of a basic
joy in life — eating
good food.
I value home cooked meals, eating wholesome and seasonal dishes, I'm passionate about the art of cooking and the
joy there is
in feeding people
well, but the ebb and flow of
life just changes the pace at which I am able to do these things.
