I loved the worlds of, say,
Just Cause 2 and Assassin's Creed Origins, but when I opened the map view of
Dynasty Warriors 9 and witnessed its size, I became more exhausted and daunted rather than excited.
For those of you who frequently read Plus XP, you will know that a few weeks back I had done a preview post on this very game, saying how much I did like the original manga series and the concept of the
Dynasty Warriors game style being translated into a next - gen beat «em up would be
just damn right awesome.
As has been the case for many years now, the feeling of power that
Dynasty Warriors provides as you send scores of foes flying with
just a single attack, remains undiminished even today and proves to be an effective hook for enrapturing attention far beyond what its constantly retreaded arcade combat remit might otherwise engender.
So let me
just start by giving both sides of the argument of why
Dynasty Warrior games are great and why others feel that they are not.
It's
just a touch late to the party, but
Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires is finally out for game - starved PlayStation Vita owners.
On the good side of things, one must remember there is some strategy in every
Dynasty Warriors title, and you can't
just run around like a lunatic all the time.
In
Dynasty Warriors 3, I could kill a general in
just a few hits, but they could do the same (Barring the Lu Bu and occasionally Zhang Liao exceptions).

You are right, this is not the next game in the Zelda franchise, this is
just a spin - off developed by Omega Force (Tecmo Koei), the guys who did the «
Dynasty Warriors» series.
Dynasty Warriors 4 is another title that
just takes the previous titles one step further but that's one small step.
What started with Capcom's Monster Hunter has spawned into Namco Bandai's God Eater, Tecmo Koei's
Dynasty Warriors: Strike, and even Square Enix with their
just announced game: Lord of Arcana.
It
just seems to have three or four games a year (a bit of an exaggeration) with the title
Dynasty Warriors and that can be a bit tiring.
All in all, I recommend this game for all fans of either Zelda,
Dynasty Warriors or
just action fans in general.
Granted the
Dynasty Warriors franchise has a strong following for both franchises, and there are so many that really
just enjoy the simple button mashing experience.
I have played nearly every one of the
Dynasty Warriors titles, many of which have been fantastic, and others you
just try to find what is different about this game over the previous.
For instance, in
Dynasty Warriors 9 you can trap animals, cook, and eat them to get special status boosts
just like In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Just like the predecessors,
Dynasty Warriors 9 explores the storylines of tons of characters from different Chinese
dynasties, as expected.
It combines two of the best genres that are ideal for mobile gaming: the epic RPG (play it anywhere, not
just in front of a TV), and the pick - up and - play action of
Dynasty Warriors, perfect for filling life's boring gaps.
The core gameplay is
just like any other
Dynasty Warriors title.
That's not something you see in
Dynasty Warriors; bosses are the same size as everyone else with most of the same abailities — they're
just tougher and meaner.
Now it
just feels like those
Dynasty Warrior battles which end kind of too quickly for my liking.
In part due to the presence of The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma it's clear this isn't
just a lazy reskin of
Dynasty Warriors, but a game The Legend of Zelda fans will find worthwhile to explore.
I've never played the
Dynasty Warrior games, so I
just wonder....

just like all the other
Dynasty Warriors games.
What you
just saw in this trailer is basically every part of every
Dynasty Warrior's game.
This game is only slightly similar to
Dynasty Warriors,
just like One Piece PW was.
Tecmo Koei doesn't get a pass
just because this
Dynasty Warriors game is on a Nintendo console.
It's not so much a new take on the Legend of Zelda series, as it is an inclusion of the Zelda universe to the
Dynasty Warriors series...

i for one is not really interested in buying it but the zelda does work well with it (from what i have seen) i

There seems to so much more that the game could do, but it seems content to stay relatively the same as previous
Dynasty Warrior games,
just with slight improvements.
Some creatures can take between 30 - 60 minutes to take down based on what weapons you have and if you are solo or with other people — this isn't a game where you can
just run in and hack and slash your way through everything like
Dynasty Warriors — it takes planning, strategy and patience in order to take a lot of the later creatures down.
Now, I know I poked a bit of fun at the English voice - overs in
Dynasty Warriors 9 but in that game, all the in - game text that was being read was
just encouragement text.
Of course, there are more things in
Dynasty Warriors 9 than
just missions.
Just like in every other entry,
Dynasty Warriors 9 tells a story loosely based on the events depicted in the Chinese historical text «Records of the Three Kingdoms.»
Just like how it surpassed
Dynasty Warriors 9 and Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet this time around, it did the same to Dragon Ball FighterZ the week before.
The one thing I found a little unusual is how much I felt like I was playing Zelda at times when walking around various cities — there is a song that plays that sounds
just like it belongs within a Zelda game rather than
Dynasty Warriors.
The QTEs and finger - purpling button mashing combat
just felt like
Dynasty Warriors with a fresh coat of anime paint, and not being a fan of the One Piece franchise didn't help much either.
