theories why Niantic made these
changes — some think the game's three - step tracker had a negative impact on the «Pokémon GO» servers, so they shut down the feature until they could fix the problem — but most people are frustrated not
just because this crucial feature was removed, but because Niantic hasn't given any kind of official explanation, and has done nothing to calm worried fans.

theory.
I have slightly improved the thrust of this quotation: Whitehead actually (somewhat embarrassingly) claims that the «struggle for existence gives no hint why there should be cities» even though Hobbes» social

changed the order of stage additions - there weren't any major direction
changes in balancing from Splatoon 1 - there have been more pattern combinations between weapons and stages, so there was more involved to balance them all - matchmaking is handled by getting 8 players with similar rank points, and then they're split by weapons - the rank point gap between S + players is bigger than ordinary players - only about one in 1,000 active players are in the S +40 to S +50 region in Ranked Battles - there's even less than one in 10 players that reach S +, while 80 % of the overall player base are in A or less - about 90 % of S + ranked players are within a + / -150 hidden ranked power range - rock was the popular genre in Splatoon, so they tried

G&T managed to get their work out there; publishing it in Nature or Science would not have
changed the fact that they're arguments
just don't hold any water (they didn't do any new science, they
just took what was already known, and then tried to use that to argue against what is already known — a search for logical inconsistency, which might have been worthwhile if they'd known what they were doing and if they'd gone after contrarian «
theory»)-- unless it were edited, removing all the errors and non-sequitors, after which it would be no different than a physics book such as the kind a climate scientist would use...
There might be value in a more generic piece focusing on this kind of tension, which is going to be with us for some time — the slow steady responses predicted by current models, the concern that some observations of faster and bigger
changes might actually be the greenhouse gas - forced signal and not

theories / models sort things out.

To point out
just a couple of things: — oceans warming slower (or cooling slower) than lands on long - time trends is absolutely normal, because water is more difficult both to warm or to cool (I mean, we require both a bigger heat flow and more time); at the contrary, I see as a non-sense
theory (made by some serrist, but don't know who) that oceans are storing up heat, and that suddenly they will release such heat as a positive feedback: or the water warms than no heat can be considered ad «stored» (we have no phase
change inside oceans, so no latent heat) or oceans begin to release heat but in the same time they have to cool (because they are losing heat); so, I don't feel strange that in last years land temperatures for some series (NCDC and GISS) can be heating up while oceans are slightly cooling, but I feel strange that they are heating up so much to reverse global trend from slightly negative / stable to slightly positive; but, in the end, all this is not an evidence that lands» warming is led by UHI (but, this effect, I would not exclude it from having a small part in temperature trends for some regional area, but
just small); both because, as writtend, it is normal to have waters warming slower than lands, and because lands» temperatures are often measured in a not so precise way (despite they continue to give us a global uncertainity in TT values which is barely the instrumental's one)-- but, to point out, HadCRU and MSU of last years (I mean always 2002 - 2006) follow much better waters» temperatures trend; — metropolis and larger cities temperature trends actually show an increase in UHI effect, but I think the sites are few, and the covered area is very small worldwide, so the global effect is very poor (but it still can be sensible for regional effects); but I would not run out a small warming trend for airport measurements due mainly to three things: increasing jet planes traffic, enlarging airports (then more buildings and more asphalt — if you follow motor sports, or simply live in a town / city, you will know how easy they get very warmer than air during day, and how much it can slow night - time cooling) and overall having airports nearer to cities (if not becoming an area inside the city after some decade of hurban growth, e.g. Milan - Linate); — I found no point about UHI in towns and villages; you will tell me they are not large cities; but, in comparison with 20-40-60 years ago when they were «countryside», many small towns and villages have become part of larger hurban areas (at least in Europe and Asia) so examining
just larger cities would not be enough in my opinion to get a full view of UHI effect (still remembering that it has a small global effect: we can say many matters are due to UHI instead of GW, maybe even that a small part of measured GW is due to UHI, and that GW measurements are not so precise to make us able to make good analisyses and predictions, but not that GW is due to UHI).
Andrew Marr: What's interesting — I mean, so,
just to be absolutely clear for all those listening, um, of all those
theories about the imminent end of the Earth, and the Earth's going to
change on its axis and rotate in a different direction — there is no scientific evidence for any of this, as far as you're concerned, absolutely none.

And about refuting planetary influences: for many «
theories» it suffices to point out that the Sun is in free fall and therefore does not feel any effects from its velocity or acceleration,
just as a man in an elevator with a broken cable accelerates towards his fate without [on the way] feeling anything [except that he is weightless] and the astronaut in orbit also in free fall being weightless and not feeling his speed or acceleration [he
changes direction all the time, hence accelerates constantly].
They use issues like Mann not how Dr. Curry does (questioning the process) but how Climate

If any of the religious - zealot scaremongers could do that, the facts would be plainly clear and stand on their own, and the «experts» wouldn't be developing «Information Task Forces» and other propaganda gimmicks to convince the majority of people (yes, the majority) that the
theory is correct, that «climate
change» is killing us all, that we can do something about it, but, alas the majority of us are
just too dumb to understand it.
