Consider: the arsenal of effective (and less risky) HIV medicines has ballooned, the stigma associated with the disease has declined (although, as activists note, much work remains to be done on that front), and
awareness campaigns centered on HIV / AIDS have gone from what was a fringe movement
just 30 years ago to a cause championed by top
public figures and companies around the world.
And
just this week, the National Airlines Council of Canada — representing the country's largest carriers — launched a
public awareness campaign to alert Canadians to the urgency of this issue.
This is
just phase one in what is to be a multi-tiered
public awareness campaign, which comes at a time when the Cuomo administration is «right - sizing» the state's prison system, closing seven facilities around New York.
