But for spring and summer I have a new line of embroidered terrace
skirts and also some loose fitting shirts with a fitted
bottom yoke that I think you'll
just love.
Also, hopefully this two outfits show you that if you have the same color
bottoms in both
skirts and pants you can change up an outfit
just by swapping pants for a
skirt and changing your shoes.
I absolutely love the classic black and white pattern of this flounce
skirt and I thought the flare detail at the
bottom is
just adorable.
OR, I squint at it, and first check for proportion... If you look at all views of the
skirt,
just imagine it tapered in at the
bottom, about 4 inches overall... you can baste it with a needle and thread, see if that helps and then take to your tailor for a quick fix.
There was one time when I stuffed the
bottom half of this dress down into a
skirt and
just let the top part show.

You could do as I did, matching top and
bottom, or you go for a simple but fun plaid tube
skirt with an oversized knit — in navy or cream — or maybe
just wear a pair of plaid heels for the holidays, imagine how amazing that will look!
Vogue 8955 looks amazing, and you could easily gather the
bottom hem to create a harem pant style with it, or
just leave it loose the way it is, and people would never know it wasn't a
skirt!
Just tuck it inside your fave denim
bottoms, like shorts or
skirts for an easy everyday look.
The blazer
just can't be too long if the
bottom of the
skirt isn't structured.
I was nervous about the crop top portion, but the
skirt and
bottom of the top hit at
just the right spot so I don't have to worry that I have been skipping ab day at the gym!
My favorites are a couple of straight, pencil - ish
skirts that are knee length and
just ever so slightly pegged toward the
bottom.
The white top was too bulky, the
skirt irritated me by spinning around on my walk home, and the shoes made the
bottoms of my feet feel like they were on fire after
just a mile.
Modifications: I changed the shape of the
skirt to be a-line by
just making it wider at the
bottom.
We're back with another fabulous DIY project that will solve one of the most frustrating problems a modest fashionista can face: When you fall in love with that dress or
skirt that's
just a few inches too short and you refuse to double -
skirt, or add that dreaded ribbon to the
bottom!
The
skirt is meant to be body - hugging and for me that causes issues; my
bottom half is
just as curvy as my upper half.
