Every sport book today is computerized, Back in my day money always moved the line if a

Should this even be a topic?Giroud is a
player of average quality always surrounded by good players.I
just don't get. It's as if only Arsenal fans rate him. This was a
player who was bought to be the leading striker at Arsenal and after his years of failure which many deny he's now become a super sub?How laughable is that. From failure to super sub.If the so called world class striker we're signing goes out
with an injury for about five months who comes in then.It seems to me people lack vision. Why is it always Giroud Giroud Giroud? After so many seasons people are still debating what souldn't even be debatable.I've lost count of the number of times he's been
talked about here. This is the problem
with our club.It's
just not ruthless.This is a
player who should have been gone long ago but due to him being French he still gets the chances. We won't miss him when he goes and I'd like to see if he'd stand out in a smaller club.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where
players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current
players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these
players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played
with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive
players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a
player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the
players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud);
just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this
player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent
with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract
talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3
players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill
players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a
player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6
players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1
just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was
just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
As far as I was aware we

Its not
just the
players demand we are
talking about, we also have their agents to deal
with, if you watched Wenger's interview
with Bien sports on his 20 years anniversary, he explained a lot on
players acquisition and contracts.
Just be honest you guys an say you personally don't want to see any signings, then explain why if you can, don't keep
talking waffle about how the market sucks, we're not trying to replace Henry or Bergkamp, only Giroud and
with literally 10's if not 100's of
players out there this task can not be impossible IF you have the will
I fully understand we
just lost one game and uts not the end of the world but am struggling to deal
with is the consistent lack of mental toughness that are the hallmarks of all title winning teams... we need to be proactive and stop been reactionary, simples... we had what is in all honesty a good couple of matches begining of the season WINNABLE games but we already fell short at the first hurdle now all the
talk is about bouncing back, whatever happened to eyes on the ball straight from the off... a Westham side
with a new manager, some new
players and a 16 year old making his debut beating Arsenal at home is
just plain disgraceful and whatever happens next does not in any way mitigate against that.....
i remember reading on twitter a little while back someone mention that we were in
talks with a big name
player in germany, that the
talks were getting under way back then and said it could
talk a while to iron out, when i read the tweet (it very much reminded me of when we signed ozil
just a faint whisper on twitter and then it
just happened) real under the radar stuff, this could be it coming to its end game and boom mr x signs on the dotted line.
With Kante, you are
talking about a
player who has
just won the PL title and was nominated for PFA
I am not
just talking about our wide forward either, although the boss does have a tricky choice on whether to use the pace, power and work rate of Danny Welbeck on the other side to Alexis Sanchez, or whether to go
with a more technical
player like Santi Cazorla or Mesut Ozil.
I think gmv8 is right, there is something sinister going on behind the scenes, the way the team played today wasn't
just usual wenger's fault, yes his time is up and he needs to retire but i think there is more to the team than we know,
players weren't communicating
with each other on the pitch, they weren't caring about the game at all, at one of the goals i saw ramsey was
talking to another
player and not giving a damn about the game at all, there is some internal crisis between
players, some probably hate each other, the defenders and the midfield lost the ball too much that it seemed they are doing it deliberately, some
players seem to want out but not gone yet that makes me think they want out not because of money or the club but because they hate each other, specially Ox and Sanchez!!
Hey SoOpa AeoN you got a cool but yoy don't
talk cool at all along
with rkw.I didn't like the way Chicarito's name was rubbed in the mad and what pains me is that you all think Giroud is better. The fact that you are a team reject does not mean you aren't good enough or can't be world class.Do you want me to name a few rejects who have become world class or have come back to haunt their teams. If I was to choose between sticking
with Giroud or Chicarito for thousand years we all know who people would go for.The over hyped average
players in our club is unbelievable and it's
just sad.The club is also over hyped at times and we feel like we are so so big. It's a shame. The mentality of this club is so so bad and trust me
with this characters success will be far away for centuries to come.
So
with things going well I
just intend to
talk about the disappointment I feel towards a whole lot of Arsenal fans,
with the way they have a lack of faith in our
players when things go wrong.
Here is a typical scenario you all know: We will go in an unbeaten strike to secure our 4th grade trophy... We will have those AKB's telling us «see we told you, negative thinkers, we are good enough
with Wenger, we have the right manpower» And here we are again 4th, 3rd, or even 2nd (but never 1st), the summer comes, Wenger
talk as wise - man a transfer window genius,
just talk and
talk, while Pep, Klop, (new MUTD manager) and (new Chelsea manger) sign all available classy
players... We are in a loop...
as wih
just about every season for last 10 years we have a team that is a couple of real quality
players short of challenging on three fronts for top honours... so if wenger is willing to get rid of mert flamini arteta diaby and walcott (and possibly gibbs who is begining to really disappoint but perhaps worth another season) and bring in three quality
players cb dm and attacker i will change my mind and give him a chance till end of contract... if its another round of bargain basement
players with potential and
talk of getting in to cl as like a trophy... then yes he needs to go
My fellow gunners Wenger is a failure either you admit or not, though this is a preseason match which is less important
just to make the
players gain fitness, before the competitive matches commence, but at the same time Wenger's tactics and formation should be questioned especially against big teams, he had conceded numerous goals against big teams in which today's match is a reflection of what we are
talking about, his old and out dated philosophy is no longer valid in modern football, no wonder Alexis Sanchez can't confide in his plans to propel the team in winning major honours, Wenger still believe in some of the bunch of fringe
players he should have gotten rid of in the team and replace them
with world class
players or
players that are hungry for success like Alexis, anyway there is still much time in the transfer window presently to do that, if he can change the hands of time and stop being too stubborn.
That pompous Mo also said last season that he will win the PL
with 2 more signings (Costa, Fabregas) and look whats happening exactly what hes said he did nt have to build chelsea he
just got 2nd last season
talking about little horses and big horses, but he was right Chelsea wher2
players away once he gets them he will win the PL he knows wenger is building an Enterprise rather than
just a stop gap team Wenger is cementing Arsenals future for the next 10 years so he does nt have to reitre and watch His legacy Rot in hell.
Stats don't give you all the details you need... For example: there was a time at that westham game that Ozil find himself in a better position to score right inside the box
with no defender maulding him but he decided to pass the ball down to Ramsey who is outside the box... Sometimes Ozil find himself in a better position than the
player he passes to... Stats will never bring that out... Ozil is
just another Hleb
with creating chances and no goals... I even prefer Hleb cuz he is a treat in every big games and a nightmare to defenders... Stop covering up Ozil and
talk football the way it is.
Trouble is Wenger won't upset his favourites & it remains paper
talk about the exodus of
players — I watch & wait every day
with very little movement or
just quotes repeating the last 7 seasons.
Picture this, we don't come out of the gate firing on all cylinders, Wenger speaks of how there wasn't enough time for the first - teamers to build chemistry, several key
players aren't even playing because of Wenger's utterly ridiculous policy regarding
players who played in the Confed Cup or the under21s and the boo - birds have returned in full flight... if these things were to happen, which is quite possible considering the Groundhog Day mentality of this club, how long do you think it will take for Wenger to recant his earlier statements regarding Europa... I would suggest that it's these sorts of comments from Wenger which are often his undoing... why would any manager worth his weight in salt make such a definitive statement before the season has even started... why would any manager who fashions himself an educated man make such pronouncements before even knowing what his starting 11 will be come Friday, let alone on September 1st... why would any manager who has a tenuous relationship
with a great many supporters offer up such a potentially contentious
talking point considering how many times his own words have come back to bite him in the ass... I think he does this because he doesn't care what you or I think, in fact he's more than slightly infuriated by the very idea of having to answer to the likes of you and me... that might have been acceptable during his formative years in charge, when the fans were rewarded
with an scintillating brand of football and success felt like a forgone conclusion, but this new Wenger led team barely resembles that team of ore... whereas in times past we relished a few words from our seemingly cerebral manager, in recent times those words have been replaced by a myriad of excuses, a plethora of infuriating stories about who he could have signed but didn't and what can only be construed as outright fabrications... it's kind of funny that when we want some answers, like during the whole contract debacle of last season, we can't get an intelligent word out of him, but when we
just what him to show his managerial acumen through his actions, we can't seem to get him to shut - up... I beg you to prove me wrong Arsene
33 attempts at goal 75 % possession and lose comfortably it can only happen to arsenal it would be funny if not so tragic and I'm for one not buying the reason we lost is because of De Gea it's as much poor finishing as it is great goal keeping more aggression
with the chances and you score I don't care who's in goal
just smash it doesn't have to look pretty and I don't have to say very much about the defending it's schoolboy stuff all this
talk about koscielny (bosscielny) never got that isn't physical enough to be an Adams or Campbell gets muscled off the ball far too often he's a good
player don't get me wrong but he ain't world class and definitely isn't a leader I'd replace that whole back line and drop xhaka and ramsey for new signings yeah ramsey set up a nice goal but that kid can not hit water if he fell out of a boat his shooting is awful always sky's them very frustrating
player.
Arsenal fans were greeted this morning
with all that exciting
talk about a # 200 million transfer kitty, after the Arsenal director Lord Harris made the very bold, and possibly foolish, statement that the Gunners could afford to sign
just about any
player in the world except Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.
Then people come hear and
talk about his valuation and tell me he is over performing.Tell me for how much we bought some of Arsenal greatest
players before you can and say that. The guy is so terrible I don't even know what to say anymore.I'm
just speechless so I won't go further.Vardy snubbing Arsenal has completely nothing to do
with Wenger keep Giroud.
Ever thought that it isn't AFC holding up contract
talks but the
players who are not available to
talk just yet as they are
with their national team?
i
just do nt understand whats going on
with mr Wenger pretty much a personal opinion which he is trying to convince everybody — is time is up in modern football too much royalty to some of his
players who are not good enough and Arsenal fans pay huge price for that - when do does nt want to spend money he wait until last minute and use that as an example for not buying
players to improve squad — the exceptional
players it
talking about he sounds to mean Messi in my definition!!
With the
talk of his right hand man Boro leaving at the end of the season and getting a sporting director in I'm hopefully that should AW sign da ting, which I have a funny feeling he will, despite knowing he should probably
just go, then I hope he can somehow develop a ruthless streak and cut some deadwood out of the team, secure some top
players at all cost, and bring in the Terminator as his new assistant and save his name by somehow winning league am going out in a blaze of glory
The
players were
just walking away on the rare occasion they scored a goal, nobody was celebrating or congratulating each other... nobody was
talking to each other on the bench all looking p'd off
with each other, nobody even looked like they wanted to pass to each other.
Am never one to excuse our continuous failings and Wenger's general ineptitude but all this
talk of Afobe been another one we missed out on is a bit preposterous and very very premature... yes he's scored a few goals for Bournemouth but can we all take a step bck and recognise that playing for a team who will be happy
just to avoid relegation is very different from playing for a club which demands trophies and high achievements every season (yea, I know we have been found wanting on these fronts for a long time)... some
players are better in small clubs
with limited expectations and very neat to no pressure... that is why history is littered
with stories of good
players who went to big clubs and flopped only to go down a few levels and find their form again....
The latest Arsenal transfer rumours linking Arsene Wenger
with a possible mo0ve for the young Atletico Madrid and Uruguay international defender Jose Gimenez
just serve to highlight once again the problems that our manager has been
talking about in his quest for new
players in the summer transfer window.
A few days ago I posted a comment on here and noted how AFC always seem to lose ground and our way once the heat is on... how we lack the mental strength and character to deal
with pressure of maintaining a lead once we are top of the table and how we ALWAYS crumble when it matter most... i also noted how we ALWAYS seem to regain our mojo soon as we are out of contention for every important competition, when we go on some amazing winning streak,
just in time to snatch the 4th place trophy... as is the norm on here and many other AFC fans forum i got member jumped down my throat,
talking about negative fans,
talking about new
players we have and how that problem was a thing of the past....
