tried subbing
coconut oil, but the flavor
just wasn't right.

tried this with
coconut oil as substitute for either the
butter and / or the vegetable oil?
You could
try using liquid
coconut oil instead, I'm
just not a huge fan of it and prefer using the «
butter» instead.
I haven't made too many raw dishes but this looks very tempting, will give it a
try after I shop for these somewhat new ingredients (I've never bought a goji berry before for example, and I haven't
tried coconut butter either,
just the normal Earth Balance stuff.)
Just want to say that we
tried making these dairy - free, by substituting vegan margarine for the
butter and then
coconut cream (with a tablespoon of
coconut oil) for the heavy cream — and it worked well!

coconut using spectrum shortening,
coconut oil and / or dairy free
butter, confectioners sugar, vanilla and
coconut milk.
You could probably substitute the
butter with more
coconut oil
just fine, I haven't
tried it but I would assume that it would work well.

just tried this recepie with cashewnut
butter, 1 1/2 tablespoon of
coconut flour and 1 tablespoon of cocosa.
I haven't
tried that in this specific cake, but I have used
butter instead of
coconut oil in some of my other cake recipes and the results were
just great.
As noted, I
tried using more of the almond
butter in place of the
coconut oil in earlier versions and wasn't a fan, but
just a tablespoon should be fine.

just have to in case others want to
try lower sugar, and an alternative to
coconut oil or
butter.
As an oatmeal addict, my favorite (late) Sunday breakfast is a bowl of oatmeal cooked in
coconut and almond milk topped with pecans and a dollop of pumpkin
butter (you should
try this out by slow cooking pumpkin puree with cinnamon, ginger and maple syrup, it is
just addictive!).

I made a few changes: I used all plain flour (that's all I had), sheep's milk yogurt (I bought it to
try and it's weird / gross so I made these to use it up), a little bit of

butter because I didn't want to open a new packet of
butter (I'm
just lazy:P), and I used 4 small apples instead of 2 big (gasp!).

Coconut oil hardens more than
butter when refrigerated, so if you do
try to use it I would suggest either reducing the chilling time to an hour or even
just using the dough right away, at room temperature.
Is
coconut oil no longer vegan?!!! If it's
just because some vegan's don't want to use
coconut oil have they
